  1. QUICKSPELL PROGRAM                                Progam # 2

  3. The program is a simple one.  Random selections from a list of the most
  4. commonly misspelled words will be flashed on the computer screen.  (There are
  5. a few bizarre ones, too, just to keep things hopping.)  You must observe the
  6. correct spelling, and enter that spelling once the word has disappeared, to get
  7. each question right.
  8.  
  9. The purpose of this exercise is to help you concentrate on the FORM of each
  10. word, to sharpen your visual memory.
  11.  
  12. You will be able to choose one of four display speeds for the words.  For the
  13. curious, here is the length of time words are displayed in each mode (in secs):

  15.            Slow: 3.2  Medium: 1.6  Fast: 0.4  Super: 0.1

  17. Note that the "Super" speed is in effect a speed-reading exercise; I don't
  18. recommend starting out with it!  If you don't like the speed you've chosen,
  19. you can change it at any time during the program.  You may also exit the
  20. program at any point.
